Another glowing report from Considerate Constructors!

St Werburgh Street Chester Scafolding

Maxiflow have once again received a commendation from the Considerate Constructors Scheme!

The Scheme aims to improve the image of the construction industry by holding its members to a high standard of practice. Regular audits, inspections and reports help ensure that standards are upheld.

Our most recent site visit was held earlier this week, at a project on Chester’s historic St. Werburgh Street.

The job requirements included slate roof repair, damp proofing, gutter clearance and decorative works. This diverse mix of repairs and improvements incorporated team members from across Maxiflow’s different divisions, making the job an ideal candidate to showcase our range of services.

The visitation from the Considerate Constructors Scheme representative was carried out smoothly, with a very complimentary report arriving shortly after.

A few brief excerpts from the report are below:

[Site foreman] Barry personally introduced himself to the neighbouring business & explained the works; particular attention has been paid to communications with the adjacent Living Room bar & restaurant as the scaffolding crosses the entrance door & carries over the single storey entrance hallway.

No complaints received, most comments are favourable & relate to neighbours being pleased that the property is being tidied up.

This is a high profile scheme in a popular area of historic Chester & the high esteem which the company is held in is demonstrated by the willingness of the Cathedral as a regular Client to allow the company vehicles to use the private Cathedral car park.

We would like to thank the Considerate Constructors Scheme for their time and appreciate the careful reporting that they have undertaken.

Welcoming the London 2012 Olympic Torch to Chester!

Olympic Torch In Chester
Photo by North Devon Council @ Flickr

Today is a historic day for Chester, as we welcome the Olympic Torch to the North West!

The torch will pass over the border from Wales into Saltney at 5:45PM, beginning an evening of celebrations that will culminate in a spectacular show at the Chester Racecourse.

Along the way, the torch will be passing by local landmarks such as the Chester Guildhall, Chester Market, Chester Cathedral and the Handbridge shops.

We at Maxiflow will be cheering on the torch alongside the residents of this remarkable city, celebrating the spirit of community for which this symbol stands.

We would like to wish the very best of luck to the 15 individuals participating in the relay through Chester: Helen Allen, Huw Barrett, Donna Butler, Adrian Derbyshire, Lucy Derbyshire, Simon Jones, Emma Jones, Isabel Jonet, Caitlin Kennedy, Jason Maguire, Margaret McKeegan, Jenny Moore, Rachel Smith, Alex Staniforth and Jean Turner.

Whether you’re from down the road or from far afield, the Olympics are an event that brings everyone together. We hope everyone enjoys themselves at today’s extra special events!

Maxiflow Sponsorship Success! Chester FC and Hoole Rangers FC Update

Chester FC and Maxiflow

We at Maxiflow are very proud to be Backing The Blues at Chester Football Club and would like to offer our congratulations to the champions of the Evo-Stik Premier Division!

It’s very gratifying to say that the success story doesn’t begin and end at the top, because we are definitely sharing in the feel-good factor that comes from backing a winner.

What began as a public show of support for our local team has quickly turned into lucrative opportunities for our family-run business. A North West based blue-chip company discovered Maxiflow from the Chester FC website and got in touch with us, enabling us to secure a roofing maintenance contract worth £250,000.

We are also pursuing several other promising leads which are a direct result from the increased exposure, which has lead to an article on Maxiflow’s success appearing on ChesterFC.com!

Hoole Rangers FC and Maxiflow

As a socially-focused company, Maxiflow are always looking for opportunities to parlay our good fortune back into the community. Chester FC are a triumphant example of the power that comes from grassroots movements, and we believe that supporting local sport is a significant investment into the future of the community.

In addition to a number of youth-based initiatives, Maxiflow are delighted to announce that we are also sponsoring Hoole Rangers FC, members of the local Chester & District Football League.

The Rangers will be holding a Fun Day and Charity Football Match at Limewood Fields on Sunday 6th May, which promises to be an excellent day out for the entire family. More details of this event will be coming soon to the Maxiflow blog.

It’s a great time to be part of the Chester football scene, and we wish both teams the best of luck in their upcoming seasons!

Thank you to Chester Scouts and the Gang Show team!

We at Maxiflow have continued to strengthen our association with local institutions, and are proud to show our support for Chester Scouts!

In addition to providing solar panels for the Christleton Scout Hut last year, we helped provide Chester Scouts with a few supplies for their annual Gang Show.

We recently received a delightful letter from the organisers, which we have preserved below:

Dear Kevin & Warren,

Now that our Gang Show is over and the dust has finally settled, I would like to thank you both on behalf of the Gang for your enormous generosity in donating so much timber and electrical goods in support of the project. As you will have probably gathered, staging a show involving nearly 100 performers each year is, to say the least, a problem and balancing the books at the end of it all is even worse! Your contribution has certainly helped to keep the accounts in the black.

Suffice to say, we now seem to have reached a state of equilibrium both artistically and financially so are able to look forward to another show in 2013. I hope that you will both be able to join us as our guests.

Gerald Roose, Business Committee Chairman

We would like to thank Mr Roose and the Gang Show organisers for their kind words and hope to be involved in the next show.
