Cofely GDF Svez Sustainability

Maxiflow Ltd has been invited to become a member of the FM Supply Chain Sustainability School  by one of our clients @CofelyUK all our team embrace the initiative and the positive benefits of being a member will bring to the entire company:

Maxiflow welcomes the focus on developing the right values and code of ethics within our business as this is an approach we have found to be effective. The School  supplychainschool.co.uk represents a common approach to developing sustainability competence in the supply chain and is part of our continued commitment to lead the industry into a brighter, more sustainable future.

Another glowing report from Considerate Constructors!

St Werburgh Street Chester Scafolding

Maxiflow have once again received a commendation from the Considerate Constructors Scheme!

The Scheme aims to improve the image of the construction industry by holding its members to a high standard of practice. Regular audits, inspections and reports help ensure that standards are upheld.

Our most recent site visit was held earlier this week, at a project on Chester’s historic St. Werburgh Street.

The job requirements included slate roof repair, damp proofing, gutter clearance and decorative works. This diverse mix of repairs and improvements incorporated team members from across Maxiflow’s different divisions, making the job an ideal candidate to showcase our range of services.

The visitation from the Considerate Constructors Scheme representative was carried out smoothly, with a very complimentary report arriving shortly after.

A few brief excerpts from the report are below:

[Site foreman] Barry personally introduced himself to the neighbouring business & explained the works; particular attention has been paid to communications with the adjacent Living Room bar & restaurant as the scaffolding crosses the entrance door & carries over the single storey entrance hallway.

No complaints received, most comments are favourable & relate to neighbours being pleased that the property is being tidied up.

This is a high profile scheme in a popular area of historic Chester & the high esteem which the company is held in is demonstrated by the willingness of the Cathedral as a regular Client to allow the company vehicles to use the private Cathedral car park.

We would like to thank the Considerate Constructors Scheme for their time and appreciate the careful reporting that they have undertaken.

Chester Cathedral Roof Overhaul

Re-roofing Chester Cathedral
We are proud to announce that we have started one of our most prestigious jobs to date!

Maxiflow are in the beginning stages of completely overhauling the roof of Chester Cathedral, one of Chester’s most iconic buildings and an institution that stands at the very heart of the city.

The conservation of our county’s historic buildings is vitally important to everyone at Maxiflow. Observers can rest assured that we are not changing the look of the Cathedral’s roof in any way and aim to preserve its distinctive character to the very best of our ability.

We will have more details as work continues.

Lead theft at National Waterways Museum

Lead theft at National Waterways Museum, Ellesmere Port

The National Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port has become the latest establishment to be hit by lead thieves, adding to the growing number of occurrences of this crime in the Cheshire area.

Formerly known as The Boat Museum, the NWM plays an important part in preserving the heritage of the local area. Detailing the history of the vibrant trade hub and transport network that gave Ellesmere Port its name, the museum also hosts a diverse array of exhibitions and events throughout the year which provide fun and education for the whole family.

The lead was stolen from the roofs of Porters Row, a series of cottages which recreate the domestic details of life at the docks throughout several different time periods.

The roll-top ridges atop the cottages sadly aren’t looking quite so authentic anymore thanks to the vandals who have stripped away the lead. Maxiflow will be repairing the damage and replacing the lead with a substitute which has no resale value.

It’s a sad blow to historic accuracy, but these measures will help prevent any further loss to an important institution.
