Handbridge shop renovations – Phase 2

Residents of Handbridge may have noticed that our scaffolding has crept up the street to Martin’s newsagent! As a follow-up on our previous story and photo gallery of our work at the Handbridge shops, we have begun work on phase 2 of the project.

Residents & businessowners alike are reportedly delighted with the work Maxiflow have completed so far.

This job goes well beyond a fresh coat of paint, involving advanced repairs to timber frames (chopping out defective timber and splicing fresh beams into place), replacing metalwork (including ornate iron gates & frames) and extensive decorative works.

We will keep you updated as work progresses.

Renovations at the Handbridge shops

Maxiflow are undertaking very important conservation works at the historic row of shops in Handbridge. Lying next to the Old Dee Bridge, the shops include Chaps barbers, Brown Sugar Internet Cafe and Martins newsagent, offering valuable services to the local community in buildings of great historical value.

Maxiflow are primarily providing timber works and decorative services to the flats above the shops, in addition to repairing and refurbishing the front elevation of each building.

We will have more information once each phase of work is completed.
